GOALKEEPERS!!!
Senior and Veteran Goalkeepers receive a 15% discount off their fees for any team in which they are the full-time goalkeeper.
If a Goalkeeper (Senior, Veteran, or Junior) provides all of his or her own gear, they do not have to pay ANY fees for any team in which they are the full-time goalkeeper, however pay $20 membership fee annually.
FAMILY DISCOUNTS!!!
There are significant discounts when more than one person at an address plays hockey. Discounts apply to fees only.. uniforms are fixed price.
- Two people at the same address play - 10% discount
- Three (or more) People at the same address play - 15% discount
To qualify for the discount, all fees must be paid in full at the one time.
Payment Plan Options
You may elect to pay your fees by instalments, however your fees will not be considered paid until the final payment has been made and in every case all payments must be completed by 10 May 09. To organise a Payment Plan, contact the chief executive officer as early as possible.
Extreme Financial Difficulty
Whilst the Club already provides flexible payment options, a member may find themselves in ‘extreme financial difficulty’ in their ability to pay the playing fees by 06 May due to an unforeseen circumstance. (An example of an unforeseen circumstance could be the cost of repairs to the member’s personal vehicle due to a car accident or loss of employment). In this instance, the member may submit a request to the Board outlining their situation and a proposed payment plan for consideration as soon as practicable. Each case will be considered on its merits and is not a bench mark for setting precedent as each individual’s circumstances are different, nor is approval of the request by the Board guaranteed.
The Board is to advise the member in writing of its decision. If the request is denied the Board must detail the reason for the non-approval. If the request is approved the Board must provide the detailed payment plan in writing and have a signed agreement with the member. In the advent the member forfeits/dishonours the agreement; he is to be suspended from all games until the fees are paid in full.
Terms and Conditions
Under no circumstance will players be permitted to play after the conclusion of Round 3 if they have an outstanding balance.
Note that only players who have paid their fees in full are permitted to play in the 'firsts' teams. Casual and fill-in players are NOT permitted to play in the firsts.
Acceptance of fees on behalf of the club does not guarantee that there will be a playing position open. Refunds will be given should it turn out that a position is not available.
What do fees include?
Fees cover just about everything to do with the winter season. Training from February to September, up to eighteen home and away games, ground hire, public liability insurance, umpiring fees, etc. The only additional cost is uniform, any social activities, and training sessions your coach may wish to do away from the Mowbray field (eg swimming, gym work).
Finals are NOT included! If you are lucky enough to play in finals, you will pay $15 per finals game to help cover these extra costs.
If games are rostered at the State Hockey Centre, you will have to pay admission to the centre.
Uniform Cost
Uniform is available from the club, and may be purchased in a range of sizes.
Shirts with embroidered logo cost $45 in sizes 70,80,90,100,110, and 120.
Shorts cost $25 in sizes 60,70,80,90,100, and 110.
Prices for used uniforms are $25 for shirts and $10 for shorts.
Socks cost $7 in sizes Youths, Men, and Extra Large.
Casual or Fill-in Players
The club does not encourage casual players, however there are times when the availability of certain players is unpredictable.
Note that the board has directed that when a firsts team exists and there are also lower graded teams, no casual or fill-in players may play for the firsts and only players who have paid the full season fee for that competition are eligible to play in the firsts.
Members who elect to pay a casual fee each week will need to be prepared to make the weekly contribution for each game played for the entire season. The payment of the casual fee is for each game played. If a casual player participates in a second game during the round he is required to pay a second casual fee rate for that team.
Non-playing membership.
We welcome persons wanting to become more involved but who do not wish to play. For $20 per year, you may obtain non-playing membership which entitles you to full voting rights as well as special member rates to club events.
Refunds.
Refunds for fees paid are paid at either a pro-rata rate, or by application of the casual rate to those games a player has played or was eligible to play, depending on the reason for the refund request.
If you pay your fees by one of the due dates and it turns out that there is not a team in the required age-group or skill level, then a full refund will be provided.
Requests for refunds must be directed to the chief executive officer and should be made as soon as possible. For example, if you stop playing half way through the season and then ask for a refund after the season has finished then you will not be eligible for anything!
How to pay.
Monies are payable by cheque (payable to Melton Hockey Club, mailed to PO Box 861 MELTON VIC 3337), or cash, with a more convenient option being direct deposit to:- Commonwealth Bank
- BSB 063-241
- Account number 10120127
- Account Holder: Melton Hockey Club Inc.
Contact the chief executive officer to make a payment.
Why are Melton's fees so cheap in comparison to other clubs?
Through the hard work of a dedicated set of unpaid volunteers, our administrative costs are very low. We do not pay players, and our coaches are reimbursed only a token amount for their services.
INSURANCE - Important Note!!
The club has third-party public liability insurance, however players are not covered for any personal injury. It is strongly recommended that participants obtain their own health and/or income protection insurance.
